Responsibilities & Objectives
The Elemica Business Analyst is integral to our success and serve as trusted, dedicated advisor to our loyal clients, helping them to achieve success. Key to this role is being able to engage customers (both internal and external), articulate value, and effectively communicate the Elemica story of innovating and digitizing supply chain connectivity. The business analyst must be highly analytical and be hands-on and detail oriented.
What You’ll Do
The Elemica Business Analyst supports three primary functions: Project Coordination, Business Analysis, and Quality Assurance.
On large logistics projects, you will work with a Project Manager and other Business Analysts on new client implementations, EDI carrier integrations and configurations of the Transportation Management System for our clients.
- Project Coordination:
- Work with the Project Manager to support the requirements gathering process for the implementation of the logistics focused solutions.
- Assist in defining requirements/proposed solution, project scope, tasks, efforts and timelines to support trading partner implementation
- Identify and mitigate issues and risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Business Analysis/Mapping Function:
- Assess the customer’s and logistic service providers business and technical messaging requirements and confirm their compatibility with the Elemica supported solutions.
- Review the design of new business processes for the customer and their adequate integration into the industry standards and best practices.
- Analyze the customer message formats, identify transformation requirements of their logistics service providers, and document the mapping requirements for the mapping and config team.
- Configure Elemica logistics focussed solutions in the test and production environments
- Quality Assurance:
- Testing and verifying quality of developed interface message output based on the requirements.
- Coordination and assisting in the execution of client testing activities, such as
- Assist in business scenario testing
- Assist in end-to-end partner testing
- Ensure the client and logistics service providers ability to transact on the Elemica network
- Take an active role in troubleshooting technical problems discovered during the testing process and provide resolution internally and externally
- Work in a team of experienced Business Analysts
- As part of the Elemica Professional Services team, you will be driving continuous improvement efforts surrounding the processes and tools utilized in Elemica’s client onboarding process.
What You'll Need
- 2-5 years of work experience in supply chain and logistics.
- Strong analytical skills within the context of analyzing and mapping disparate data formats
- Familiarity/experience with one or more of the messaging formats used in B2B e-commerce: EDI (ANSI X12), EDIFACT, XML, SAP iDOCs, Flatfiles, etc.
- Experience in writing mapping documentation
- Understanding of SQL and using relational databases
- Experience with logistics and supply chain processes
- Exposure or experience with a Transportation Management System
- Exposure to internet security, networking issues and technologies
- Familiarity and/or experience with one or more of the communication protocols:
- HTTPS, AS2, SFTP, IBM MQ, FTPS, ebMS, oFTP, etc.
- Ability to multi-task integration projects of varying degrees of complexity in a dynamic environment
- Knowledge and experience with MS Office and Atlassian JIRA
- Ability to understand industry standard interface specifications.
- Good communication skills and the ability to speak to a group of people.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field of study.
