Responsibilities & Objectives
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. The position supports the Finance team in their efforts to compile an accurate general ledger.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
- Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
- Analyze P&L accounts to ensure they are recorded appropriately and resolve discrepancies monthly
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with analyzing financial statements monthly and report on variances
- Assist with financial and tax audits
- Assist with preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
- Develop and maintain internal controls related to accounting processes to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Assist in financial reporting requirements
- Mentoring and coaching more junior level teammates
- Other projects as assigned
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong understanding of accounting theory
- 3-5 years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus
- Experience in SaaS / software industry preferred
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills are essential, as you will be responsible for guiding and developing direct reports
- Highly detail oriented and organized; ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
- Proven accountability and excellent interpersonal skills; the confidence to be an honest advocate who is willing to speak up when needed
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to get to the root cause of internal and external problems; ability to recommend resolutions
- Must respond to client requests with empathy, compassion, strategic advisement, and rapidity
- Desire to work with a collaborative global team with teams in the USA, Germany, UK, Netherlands, and India
