Responsibilities & Objectives

The Elemica Quality Engineer will have to ensure Quality throughout the project as you manage testing schedules, develop functional test plans, define test data, monitor and track testing issues, analyze test results, organize and maintain test result documentation, recommend corrective action, and communicate testing status to Elemica team members and management teams. Additionally, take an active role in troubleshooting problems discovered during the testing process and working with internal Elemica resources through the resolution. More specifically, the daily tasks can include:

What You’ll Do

Manual testing

  • Collaborate with a product and development team to contribute to planning and design, reviewing product code, formulating test scenarios.
  • Execute tests as part of a Scrum team
  • Analyze and interpret test results and create test reports when necessary
  • Maintain the test ware and ensure re-usability for future regression tests (JIRA/ XRAY) as a member of a QA team
  • Reporting of work in progress, issues and bugs in JIRA
  • Support internal teams in troubleshooting

Automation testing

  • Increase the test coverage following the principles and architecture of existing frameworks or implement new ones when no framework is present
  • Monitor and act on test automation results in a timely manner
  • Participation in the support of continuous integration, continuous deployment and automation testing strategies.
  • Perform System Testing
  • Understand and be aware of code changes that may impact test coverage and execution.
  • Introduce process improvement initiatives
  • Setting up and maintaining test environments.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum of 4 years in testing (of those, minimum of 2 years in manual testing and minimum of 2 years of experience in software engineering experience in Test Automation, Test Tooling and/or Infrastructure)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field of study
  • Proficient understanding of software test methodologies/procedures and the overall product development lifecycle
  • Experience in deriving test plans/cases/scripts from system requirements
  • Good experience in testing web applications and developing automation test scripts for it
  • Basic understanding of SQL and using relational databases
  • Solid understanding of Selenium
  • Good understanding in Java
  • Experience with BBD frameworks
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and XRAY (or similar Test Management tool)
  • Ability to multi-task projects of varying degrees of complexity in an always changing environment
  • Experienced in working in a continuous integration environment and taking initiative
  • Skilled using the tools required performing Regression tests, UI tests and End-to-end tests
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • ISTQB certification (or equivalent) is a plus
  • Desire to work with a collaborative global team with offices in the USA, Germany, UK, Netherlands, and India

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field of study
